Arthur Brook's demographic analysis indicates they likely lack personal generosity. Through human history the healthy have always taken care of the sick -- voluntarily. The pharmaceutical industry is voluntary. What are these people asking for? "Use force to make others take care of me"? Logically one might round them up at gunpoint and force them to work for free taking care of the sick -- pity the sick who would be at their mercy. Health care has to do with caring, with generosity. The people I know in the medical business usually do care, are often personally generous and often are innovative. You cannot force that. Stinginess about others' earned profits indicates a stinginess about life itself; such people innovate ways to produce misery.
