Second Amendment Royalty on iVoices.org

Posted by jccaldara on Dec 07 2009 | Kopelization, PPC, Second Amendment, iVoices.org

Wow.  I’m still in awe.  I just finished listening to this epic iVoices.org podcast with Dave Kopel interviewing none other than Alan Gura himself!! Or as Dave aptly refers to Mr. Gura, “the Luke Skywalker of the Second Amendment.” Alan Gura is the man behind the huge DC v. Heller Supreme Court gun rights victory. Because of his previous victory, Mr. Gura has taken on the new McDonald v. Chicago Supreme Court case. This new Second Amendment case will decide whether the Second Amendment is enforceable at the state and local level via the 14th Amendment. Now that may seem like a lot of legalese and Constitutional law jargon, but I promise that if you listen to a few of these previous iVoices.org podcasts before jumping into the newest one featuring Alan Gura, you’ll be fine. A special thanks goes out to Mr. Skywalker Gura for taking time of his day to speak with us.

  1. Gotta love it! Another head of a dragon to kill, only to face cap and trade, socialized medicine, amnesty and the enslavement of a once free market (before 1913).

I’m all for punching errr.. voting these guys out that want to restrict my rights to defend myself, my family and my property. We need tort reform too in this area where the bar for any legislation or legal suit is raised. As in spurious law suits that can be denied a hearing at the outset.

How many times must our courts answer the same question? … See More

These people that submit these suits for “social justice” are not patriots. They are American only by convenience of birth. Tories! Some even, dare I say it, traitors. But we can’t say that. That’s a ‘little extreme”.

I hope it remains that way, but to me, we are dealing with people that do not see the wisdom within the principles of our founding. Those being free markets, ownership of property, the right to protect property by deadly force. These are the fruits of individual sovereignty.

The rule of law is the heart of this beast and tort reform kills it. Starting with the 16th amendment.

http://www.fairtax.org to get some ideas? H.R.25.. Yes our 66,000 page tax code supports 75% of our of special interest influence including “gun control” through targeted product taxation, just like liquor and tobacco products.

We must hit that dragon where it lives, not where it thinks.. grin.. stop this stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor. Stealing is stealing. http://www.fairtax.org or your better idea that accomplishes the same. Stop punishing financial success with the mandatory confiscation of wealth.

Thank you Jon for all you do. I sure would enjoy you coming out to one of the 9/12’s in Broomfield. I’m trying to set up a meeting place like the Broomfield VFW facility.

I know you ,may not want to be “associated” with a 9/12 group. You needn’t be. It is a lot of good discussions and learning too. Just like “freedom on the rocks”.

Wow, just think if we all held arms and sat in the middle of traffic.. oops too Gandhi like or Martin Luther like or “war protestor like” ? I’m one of those that says, do what works, what is understood, talk the same language. Talking “intellectually” about free markets is little more than fun.

It’s not the time for just fun..

Getting arrested can be fun too. Especially sharing a drink after meeting bail.
