Amendment 63, “Right to Health Care Choice” on This November’s Ballot
Today the Colorado Secretary of State announced the approval of the “The Right to Health Care Choice” citizens initiative for this November’s ballot. The initiative is now officially titled Amendment 63. The Health Care Choice for Colorado Issue Committee collected a total of 135,000 signatures that were handed in on July 30th.
If approved by voters in November, Amendment 63 will amend Colorado’s Constitution in two meaningful ways. First, the State of Colorado would be prohibited from forcing its citizens to purchase a public or private health insurance product, either on its own, or on behalf of the federal government. Secondly, it would constitutionally protect fee-for-service health care by ensuring Coloradans the right to choose to pay out of pocket for health care services and products.

We support this measure. Let’s say it is 80-20. Then what? I think that this adminstration should focus on audiology instead of Ideology. I know that Healthcare refom has been the Holy Grail for libs for 100 years (exageration is mine please don’t post dates like 1993, ect). My point is that the government should listen to the people and quit bowing down to the alter of Cloward-Piven and Alinsky. The fact is with the reform everyone does not have coverage. Exemptions are made for union members, Congress, Senate (and their families). Exemptions for Amish. I contend that more people are not covered by this reform than the 11 million they claim to want to protect.

I’ve noticed that in every State that this kind of States Rights based response is attempted to the Unconstitutional take over of yet another aspect of our individual lives, the response from the left is the same.
States CANNOT resist the power of the Federal Government. Even if a significant majority of the Citizens in the State reject Obamacare, the left would have us believe we are powerless serfs, existing only to obey our Federal overlords.
If enough States stand together and reject Obamacare, we’ll all win!

Jon,
Thank you so much for taking this on. I did not even know it was in the works or I would have volunteered to help.
If there is anything I can do to help in the future, please do NOT hesitate to contact me.
You are a breath of fresh air. I wish I could listen in more often.
Thanks again!

I would love to help support any initiative to defeat the majority of the reform regulations on healthcare. I can see the tremendous impact the initial wave (9/23 implementation starts) is having on increasing health insurance rates for my clients and we will not make it to 2014 without diving back into recession if people are forced to accept huge rate increases each year as their plans renew over the next 3 years and are forced to adopt the coverages implemented by ObamaCare. I’m thrilled 63 made it to the ballot and I hope to see more items added to the agenda asap.
