My “last” late night show tonight.
Tonight at 10 pm mountain I broadcast my last late night edition of my 850 KOA radio show. Sorry to disappoint you, but no, I am not leaving Denver radio. But I will be getting some sleep. I’ll still be filling in for all your favs like Boyles, Rosen, Caplis and gang. Also I be hosting my own show on 630 KHOW Sunday evenings. I’ll tell you all about it tonight.
The important thing is that we stay in touch. My Facebook page is filled to the maximum 5000 friends, so PLEASE “like” my fan page by clicking here.
Also please follow me on Twitter by clicking here.

KOA made a mistake here. Going from a local show that talked about the topic of the day especially now in this key election seasonand up coming legistative session to worrying about alliens landing in Mississippi is not a bright move. I am going find someplace to go at this time period. Unfortunatly I do not do the facebook or twitter thing so will watch you on your independence institute site. Thank you for teaching people how to listen and carry on a conversation. We need more like that.

Jon,
KOA can save even more money, Turn off the transmitter at 10p.m. No one will listen to the Blowtorch for crap that they can get localy. Clearchannel has ruined AM radio. It’s not free market, it’s a monopoly. I will never tune in KOA again. I don’t get KHOW it must be low power. I will listen to KGAB 650 in Cheyenne, WY they still have local programing. At night it will be Radio New Zeeland or Radio Australlia, BBC is off the air also.

I am glad you will be getting sleep, but will miss you on my late night drive home from work. I am glad you will be on KHOW. Their night programming after Sean Hannity seems to be mostly about UFOs and aliens. I don’t know which one they thought you would be!

Damnit, how am I going to figure out who to vote for now!??
I work nights and listened to you for the 30 minute drive to work every night, and often on the stream once I got to work. I understand economics and such, but this was a ignorant move by Clearchannel. I am done with KOA as well, as the morning drive home is nothing but commercial after commercial filled with conversations about nothing with lawyers who are sponsoring that particular BS segment. Hopefully you will get back on the airwaves somehow, but until then I will be following your other endeavors. Thanks for all the great information and good times over the years!

Dear Mr. Caldera,
I turned to KOA past couple of nights only to find instead of your comforting theme song and show….a syndicated and I must say, a very boring (yawn) “Coast to Coast”.
I had been hoping you were just out for a couple days but tonight I discovered your show is no longer on KOA!!
For years I have listened to you… one of the very few radio show hosts that made me realy “think”, gave me political and ecconomic viewpoints and discussions, class and quick wit, daily “intelligent” insight into the world and, brought a sense of comfort to my mind. Not to mention your vast knowledge of music and musicians which you interjected throughout your show. I loved it.
KOA made a huge mistake and lost me as a listener because of it.
I wish you all the best in whatever endeavors you choose to undertake now and in the future.
YOU will be missed!!! I’ll keep an anxious ear open for your new show.
Good Luck to you and on behalf of all your faithful listeners, a BIG thank you.
Sincerely,
Paula

How does this move mirror the direction our country? From the perspective of many, it is just another corporate “sell-out” to save a few pennies by putting out the same “national feed” that you can listen to on any number of any other AM stations in the area. Having a local host with local issues and intelligent conversation adds so much to the Denver community. Clear channel, please reconsider this move and bring back the local late night personalities.
Do the math……600 mile broadcast radius…..pi*r^2 means that you have just lost the majority of your listening audience over a 1.13 million square mile area. That is a whole lot of consumers that no longer will be hearing your ads.
